Metalwork / VW Workshop Estate Sale
The workshop of the late Victor Baker Van Hague (BAKAHAG).
Victor was a Mechanical Design Draftsman and Toolmaker. Victor’s workshop machines and beautiful 1970 Kombi are testimony to the high standards he set for himself in maintenance, and the passion and professional knowledge he displayed in implementing designs and ideas for improvement and customisation.
Victor shared a long-held family passion for cars and restored both a Riley and a Jaguar before turning his interest towards all things Volkswagen. In 1970 he bought his Kombi as a brand new, unfitted shell. He designed and fabricated the rear swivel seat/bed, as well as drawers, cupboards and interior panels. The Kombi was the much loved and meticulously maintained base for family camping holidays and bushwalking hikes around Australia during his involvement with the Sydney Bushwalkers Club. Victor’s friends and contacts within the Volkswagen community allowed him to use his considerable skills to assist people with the customization and maintenance of their Volkswagen cars; including engine reboring, and tool design and fabrication for modifications to a Volkswagen racing Beetle and a historical replica model Beetle.
